So I'm back. I took like 100 pictures with my camera. Then I deleted like 90. So ther are not a lot of new pictures at all but worry not. I'm bringing it to school tomorrow and hopefully I can get some pics of the iside of it if my teacher is cool with that! (My pics can be seen at Facebook, find me!)

Aside from that we ar testing now. It's like some sort of semster exam or mid-term or whatever, summer is coming up so that my guess. The way it works here, summer is in the middle of the school year. For me it starts... July 24! Yay :D so its less than a month away! There is a lot of stuff planned to do with AFS but that's fine cause I made quite a few AFS friends that I really wanna meet up with again! But yea, got off track. We are doing testing. And I do not understand at all. They asked if I wanted to take the test and so I said yea because I didn't want to sit and do nothing. But I think if I would have said no, I wouldn't have to go to school this week. I'm a genius though. So now I'm taking a test that I have no idea what it says or even what subject it is. While I was staring at my test today, I drooled on it... that's how much I get this. We also had an english test today! I felt really confident, then my classmate came and asked me about questions and we traded answers. I realized I answered a lot of questions wrong. I'm sure he made a higher grade then me...

Aside from that though evrything is going pretty good :D
Well it's late and I'm sleepy!

Goodnight, World!

Okay, well today was a rainy day, it didn't really stop until this evening and then I went for a bike ride because I haven't been outside in like two days. If tomorrow isn't rainy I can get some pics up of my bike, my host sisters little bar, and I guess I could take some pics of what I'm eating here, that way you guys back home know what you're missing out on. :P

Hmmm, well I'll tell ya a bit about two big things in Japan...
I have done karaoke here. Several times. It. Is. Amazing. So in the U.S. (and possibly other countries) we go to bars to satisfy our karaoke desires. Well in Japan, there are places that you go to that are made specifically for this. You go in, rent out a room, they give you a free drink of your choice, your room number and go up to it. Yes, rent out a room. You aren't in front of a hundrends of people making an idiot of yourself (if you were me), instead your are doing it in front of your friends. The rooms they put you in are really nice. You can have a lot of people all sing at one time because there are lots of mics, you can order food and beverages up to your room (which are quite affordable) and you can even shut the door to your room and scream your head off to your favorite Slipknot songs, such as I did. This is probably one of the best things I have done in Japan.

There is also this thing here called Purikura. It is short for print club (purinto kurabu) and you go into a little booth thing and have it take picture of you and your friends. Now this is made for girls really, the pictures you take remove all imperfections from you and make your eyes like twice their normal size. You look like a real life anime character or something. But yea, its cool becuase you choose all of these backgrounds whie inside of the booth (oh the booth is usually pretty big inside) and the selected backgrounds are projected onto a green screen behind you. After you have finish with the pics, you go outside the booth were it shows your photos on a screen and your can doodle on em! Yay! I think it's okay, not the funnest thing in the wold but girls here LOVE it, so I have been taken several times.

Out of these two things, Karaoke is definitely the best in my opinion because,

Number 1
It's a better deal. Purikura is about 5 dollars for 10 pictures and Karaoke, hmm, well the best value I have gotten was 6 hours for 7 dollars. Great deal.

Number 2
Karaoke rooms are very comfortable. The weather here is very hot and very muggy. Most places, like Purikura, have quite a few people and it is stuffy in these kinda places. Karaoke rooms have magical AC's and your in a large room with a lot less people. Yay.

Number 3
I like to party. Nuff said.

Well sorry bout the rainyness today guys! It's raining again now but it'll stop soon. I hope I can upload my phone pics, I can show y'all some of my purikura and me at the zoo!! :D

Hope everyone is doin' okay!
Till next time,

Sweet! Mi camera es workingo!!!

Yay! So my camera is now workin and ready for picture takin! Tomorrow I plan on going to Numazu to this game store that is supposed to be insane and might just walk around the city after that, so there will be plenty of oppurtunity for the pictures. :D

So one of my friends watched the soccer game last night... I don't know about you guys over in America, but over here the soccer game started at 3 A.M. and lasted for two hours. O.o Needless to say (but I will anyway), he was extremely tired today but I was proud of him. That kinda stuff, that's what men do. Another one of my friends fell asleep in math class today, I took his marker and drew on his fingernails while he was out. When he woke up he asked me who did it, after my "Blah, blah, lie, lie" I finally told him I did and he told me I doesn't come off. Like with anything. I felt kinda bad so I scribbled on my fingernails with the same marker. I don't know how that solved anything. Anyways, nothing really amazing happened today, more train stuff but I'll give that a rest for now. OH!!! But a while back I saw this guy at Shizuoka Train Station, he had like half of his hair straight down on one side and straight up on the other! His hair was like a foot long!!! Maybe more!!! (NO EXAGERATION) It was crazy, I really wish my camera had been working for a while now but like I said, I fixed it. Also, if I manage to get my phone's pics on the computer I'll upload em cause they're pretty interesting :D

I'm R.T. and this is My Blog comin atcha LIVE from Japan...
Goodnight, World.

Wow... Look at that circle in Texas!! (on my Visitor Locations)

Anyways, I am back again! Today was a pretty good day and two cool things, I guess you could say, "happened" today. Nothing amazing but yea, I have officially been here for 3 months now (I arrived in Japan on March 24) and summer break is exactly one month away for me!!! :D Oh, and I have a three day weekend this month which I think the students here at Gyoshu (my school) deserve because we had to go to school two Saturdays this month. Now, this isn't out of the ordinary for this school, but a kid gets tired. I also figured out why my camera hasn't been working (I thought it was broke so no pics recently, I apologize). It turns out that you need to charge the battery for like 3 days before the camera will even turn on... So yea, its charged for several days now and still isn't done.

Anywho, people here are fairly sleepy. While I was on the train (everything happens on trains) this morning, this girl kept falling asleep, nothing out of the ordinary for residents of Japan. She also kept letting her head drop to the side, pick it back up, drop it and pick it back up until she made a successful landing on the man's shoulder next to her. Sometimes she wouldeven pick her head up all the way, and then like dive bomb into his shoulder. Like I said before though, this is totally common to see here. People always seem to stay asleep the whole time they are tenderizing the poor victims shoulder, yet as soon as they get to their station, their body somehow knows that it needs to wake up. I don't know. It makes me wonder if these people are really sleeping... Well either way, it's fun to watch :)

Lots of em'

So while I was on the train coming home today this guy came into the same car as me and sat down. He looked kinda creepy... a little like Hannibal Lecter from Hannibal Rising (except his hair wasn't as nice) and he had some blood shot eyes. Anyways, he sits down next to this girl and starts talking, except nobody is listening to him. So he keeps on having this conversation with himself and while the "other person" is "responding" (moments of silence) he would do this creepy things with his hands where he would move his fingers as if they were the freakin limbs of the girl off of The Ring. Sometimes he would brush his hair back. So yea. It was wierd, but I have seen this kinda tuff a lot since I have been here. Like, I don't know, but maybe is something in the food...

Guess Who's Back?

Okay guys, I'm sorry I didn't post for so long. Honestly I have been fairly busy and everytime I think to update I think, "Ugh... Another essay." So then I don't write it.

Well now I have made a compromise with myself that if I post everyday, the posts can just be short ones. So from now I on I will be posting daily, nothing amazingly long, just the highlights of my day (maybe :P ).

So check daily!!!
(also I talked with a certain someone who wants some pics and gave me some good ideas for em!)

Anyways, today was pretty good, I have now been in my All Japanese Class for three weeks and things are goin good! I've also started to notice that I can speak and write japanese a lot faster then whenever I first came here! Sometimes it doesn't make sense and sometimes people look at me like "you shouldn't have said that...", but all in all I'm improving! Nothing much happened today except this guy in class keeps asking me who I like in our class and I won't tell him. He said he likes the teacher. After he called her a dinosaur. An elderly dinosaur. He said he likes em that way... so yea XD anyways!! Maybe more funny japanese related things will happen tomorrow! Lates!!

Hey Fools!

I'm working on a post, but it is saved as a draft right now :P

Give me a day or so, it'll be up :)

Monday, May 10, 2010

I know I haven't updated in a while but these past couple weeks have been crazy. I'll post an update on Facebook when I update my blog. Hopefully that is soon.

Saturday, April 24, 2010

'Nother few days, 'nother post.

So I will get to posting the other requests except for the one about a guide. I'm sorry but I haven't been here long enough to do that and I hardly even have the time (or will power) to update my blog. :P

Well I'm getting used to the trains now, I can navigate the stations without getting lost or missing my stop! :D I also got a PSP which is really fun, my games are in japanese so its difficult to understand but I think it helps with the whole reading part :D I have learned hiragana, katakana, and about 30+ kanji. (lol thats not much but still!) I just got my cell phone so now I can keep in touch with all my friends (in Japan)

One day I had to stay after school a little later then usual so I didn't go home with the people that I usually go with, but I just went to the bus stop and these guys were like "Robato, Robato!" lol so I went over to them and waited for the bus. Once it came it was to full to get on and the next bus wasnt for another 30 minutes. So they asked me if I wanted to walk to the next bus stop with them so I did and only one of them spoke decent english. Kinda. But while we were walking the other two were making attempts at communicating in english. The taller one pretty much just knew how to say two phrases. I am the greatest of the three. and my favorite, "You are a dirty boy." lol XD he kept saying this to the shorter guy and the short guy was like no no no! Don't listen to him! lol when we got to the bus stop the bigger guy asked me what I thought about him. I said he was tall. Naturally, the short guy asked the same question. I told him he looked mexican, he was like no no no!!!! XD Then the bigger guy was like, you are a dirty... mexican. XD hahahahaha XD it was the best XD

Also when I got off the train yesterday this lady was texting while walking to the stairs but she did not notice the pillar that she was walking towards. Hahaha as you probably guessed she ran into it, but not just that, her head like recoiled back and everything and then she just kept walking and texting like nothing happened. It was so funny XD but I have deciplined myself not to laugh at these situations. Like a ninja. :D

Well anyways, I post some pics from the school trip to Kamakura on facebook,!/RTinJapan?v=photos and also I am on the cheer team for the sports festival. But its not like american cheering! I'll show some pics when it comes around to the sports festival or maybe a video of me practicing.

'Til then,

Music in Japan

Okay so I have talked to a few people about this, I actually get asked a lot here what kind of music I like. Of course, I give the "Oh I like everything" answer but it's true! The very first person I met is really into J-Pop, but then I met this kid at my school who LOVES Queen. OHH! Several people here have asked me if I liked Backstreet Boys, a lot of Japanese people like them (mostly guys I think). The point I'm getting to is that they like American music, they like some Japanese music too, but American stuff, like ANYTHING American, they go crazy over that stuff! (Ehem! I'm American :P )

Need help.

Okay guys, or if only one person reads this, guy. I need help. I am pretty much like your eyes in Japan. If there is something that you want to know about how people act, what restaurants are like, school-life, anything, comment it on this post and I will make a post out of it. I have like a writer's block or something. :P

So I know it's been a while since my last post, but MAN! I been workin' hard! :P Seriously though, I get home at seven at the earliest and usually crash at around 9:30! So school, well it went pretty well this week, I got to make a speech on Thursday! Whoo!! Hahaha, so now everyone knows me and I love that like every teacher I meet says it's an honor to meet me and how they loved my speech (I thought it sucked :P) but I was the only person who gave a speech who didn't have a paper to read from, so I guess maybe they liked how I winged it? I don't know. :D I have met some pretty cool people at school, especially Yoda (Arisa) and Ayaka is pretty cool too :D I have been to purikura a couple of times now, only been to school three times so this is a frequent happening. I will hurry and try to get the pictures from the girls so that I can put them up in my album. Man, I wish I knew how to speak japanese because people are talking about me ALL THE TIME! And they aren't subtle about it either, they point and go on in japanese! I know some things that they say, one of my favorites being kakui :D Um, well I pretty much am amazing in english class, I have read the books that we are reading, I know the words that we are learning, and the grammar, easy :P but I did learn two new words yesterday, collocation and muzukashi (difficult). I can't really say what my schedule for the school day is like because it changes everyday, but yesterday I had a double period of art and english (periods are 50 minutes and passing periods are 10 minutes). We have 40 minutes for lunch, 10 minute cleaning time after that, then 10minutes till next class. To get a plate of rice and curry (or however you spell it) is 350 yen which is about 4 dollars, so yea a basic meal here, 5-7 dollars. Expensive. I went to McDonald's the other day to go get the Texas Burger that everyone here was crazing about and guess what?? They don't sell the burger anymore, they had like just stopped! So I got a Big Mac, so small... So unhealthy... But so good... They are way to expensive though. I know that I still need to get some pictures up of the uniform so I will get those and put them up later, I look pretty shpiffy in it :D

WEEEEELLLLLL, I gueesss that's about it for today.

Remember, RT is busy. :)

Thank you, come again! :D

Monday, April 5, 2010

So I had to go to a welcoming party for AFS students yesterday... there was a talent show and I don't have one D: so I did nothing, everyone else sang there national anthem but I really dreaded singing. Anyways, after that we went to a cherry blossom festival in Shizuoka (more pics on facebook), we just hung out. I also met Aika, or Ai, who is significantly quieter than here sister Yuna lol. It's funny because Yuna will mimic me, I'll be like, "Wow! That's cool!" and she'll say it right after me. So I mimic her when she speaks english poorly. I told her to say oh snap, she said, "Oh snappu." haha XD so then I will say it the same way and so she will sit there and talk bad about me in japanese, but whatever! Haha she's still pretty cool, and it's amazing how much I talked with Yuna and Ai yesterday considering we don't know what the other is even saying XD we talk for about 2 hours at Denny's last night. By the way, japanese Denny's is nothing like american Denny's. It's all um, japanese food. You know, ramen, miso soup, but! They might throw in an egg as a side every now and then :P

Well tomorrow is the first day of school so yea, it's only a half day though and I have Wednesday (すいようび) off so sweet :) I think I7ll walk over to Geo's here in a bit. It's like Japan's version of hollywood video and EB games combined, except Japan has a lot of games you guys back home don't :P

Well, Imma bounce!

P.S. maybe I'll talk about school tomorrow. :)

Thursday, April 1, 2010

Okay okay, I know I said Tuesday, but I've got some free time right now and I don't want to forget somethings.

So a couple of days ago I went up to the school, intresting things about japanese school:

1. You need about 4 different pair of shoes for school! (and a uniform)

2. You have 15 minutes of clean up time after lunch.

3. I have 18 other students in my class...

4. 15 of these students are girls!

5. When changing for P.E., there isn't a locker room. The class changes in the class room.

So yea, just some things that I thought were kinda cool lol :D

On to yesterday. At about noon I got to go hang out with a new person! Yay!! His name is ケイキ (Keiki) and he is just a couple of months younger than me. We went to the mall and just kind of hung out. After the mall we went to his house so he could own me at freakin Wii Fit. But whatever! Nothing super exciting but he did have Heart Gold in japanese and I have Soul Silver in english! Anywayys, after that I hung out with ユナ (Yuna) for a bit. She is exactly one year younger than me :) we were both born September 8th! So, I was hanging out with her and offered her some cinnamon gum (japan does not have cinnamon ANYTHING), when I gave her the gum she sniffed it and was like, "OHHHH!!! Shinimon!!" Hahaha XD and I told her it was からい (karai) which means spicy. So she ate it and this is about how it went, YUNA, "Mmmm!!" ME, "Daijoubu?(is it okay)" YUNA, "Daijoubu. Ahhh!! Karai karai. Karai!!" ME *Laughing* YUNA, "Itai!! Itai itai!! (It hurts!)" Hahaha it was hilarious XD I don't think I'll ever forget itai because she said it about 50 times lol XD

Well I just had some free time before going to the bank, but I'm about to leave now soo.... untill next time!

Tuesday, March 30, 2010

Okay, so this really won't be to long, I7m about to go to my high school to be fitted for the uniform. So I walked around A LOT yesterday and dragged Saori with me :P we walked about 7-8 km and made it home around 10 at night, then I had her stay up with me to watch Signs with Mel Gibson and japanese subtitles! Whoo! Oh and I guess everyone goes on diets when they hit like 30 because she doesn't eat very much, so I bought her lots of her favorite candy! Haha it's really fun here :D Oh I also found out that it is a bad idea to take a bath in the morning. The other night the temperature got down to 4 celsius in my room and during the day it gets up to about 10-12 celsius! So I skipped the shower one night to take one in the morning, first off, you can't sit in the nice hot bath water because there is none because you are the only person bathing! Everyone else bathes at night. Secondly, it was 6 celsius in the bathroom! I walked in and saw my breath and knew I had made a mistake... But I learned my lesson :)

Soooo pictures, I only took a few but I will post them up, better yet I will put them on my facebook... Unless I can find an album feature... Let me figure this out!

HERE'S THE LINK!!/album.php?aid=2033230&id=1354488080

Sunday, March 28, 2010

So I am in Japan :D people probably want pictures.. well I'll put some up later :P ERR! This keyboard is kinda difficult so this won't be a long post. So Japan... People don't smell different here, people don't hate Americans, and hardly anybody speaks english. (I have met like 20 people where I live and only 1 speaks english and another can understand slow english) Sooo, that proves that a lot of what people told me is kinda incorrect. Of course maybe those people lived in Tokyo, AKA suedo-Japan. :P I'm in the real deal, everything is pacted together, lots of houses, cherry blossoms, and Mount Fuji right outside my window! The first couple of days the food was difficult to eat and now I'm eating foods I wouldn't even eat back home! Everyone is so nice and yes you have to change your slippers all the time. I did a couple of public baths which are amazing! The top five phrases I use in japanese are:

#1 ありがとう (Arigatou) - Thank you
#2 どういったしまして (Douittashimashite) - Your welcome
#3 だいじょうぶ (Daijoubu) - It's okay/ I'm okay/ Are you okay?
#4 おいしい! (Oishii!) - It's delicious!
#5 ごめんあさい (Gomennasai) - I'm sorry
BONUS さむい! (Samui!) - It's cold!

So when ever any of these are used by others, I feel so very proud of the fact that I have a slight idea of what's going on. I met this man and when I stood up to greet him he said おおきい! (Ookii!) which means, BIG! HAHA I felt proud then too :D

Well, I have been typing this for a while and I feel like I've been on to long so I must leave now! Next post will have pictures!

Sunday, March 21, 2010

'Bout tuh leave!

Well Sunday is my last full day here in Corpus Christi and Monday is my last full day in the U.S. I am starting to feel quite a bit more nervous than I did before, but I am super excited about being in Japan! :D

I've been eating tons of Taco Bell these past couple days because I won't have it for a year! Oh, and apparently I am going to smell to people in Japan because of all the beef that we eat in America. I'm excited about that. I'm really curious as to how things will happen at orientation, with my family, with my school, ect.

Just thought I should post this, I hadn't put anything for a while. I plan on posting more while I'm actually in Japan though. OH! I got a camera so PICTURES! :D

For everyone who wants to see pictures, know about my trip, or talk, follow my blog!

Peace out!
